Sedation Dentistry is also helpful for patients that
have any level of dental anxiety. We offer a spectrum of
sedation services to ensure that all our patients have
the ability to receive treatment in comfortable manner.
·
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
is helpful for children and adults to use a light
inhalation technique to create a more relaxed mood
during treatment.
·
Oral Sedation
is helpful for patients with a mild level of dental
anxiety.
How it works –
You are given a small pill to take an hour prior to your
dental appointment. Due to the sedative effects of the
medication, you will need someone to drive you to our
office.
By the time you arrive, you will be very drowsy. You
will be escorted into a comfortable room, covered with a
warm blanket and placed on a monitor to watch your vital
signs. This little pill will work rapidly to create a
relaxed state. Although you are in a deeply relaxed
sleep-like state, you are responsive.
Our assistant will then ensure that you are comfortable
and the experienced clinical team will take care of your
dental needs.
Beyond creating an optimal environment for you, sedation
dentistry allows us to complete multiple treatments in
one appointment. You can relax from two to six hours.
The time you are in the deep relaxed state will vary
depending on your needed treatment and type of
anesthesia delivered.
When your treatment is completed, you will be escorted
to your car by a member of the serenity dental team.
Then your companion will take you home. The next day,
you will feel refreshed and glad you visited Serenity
Dental Care for the health and beauty of your smile!
·
Conscious Sedation
is for the Moderate to Severely anxious patient. This
involves a level of sedation which allows our patients
to sleep through their appointment. This is also helpful
to allow patients to have large amounts of treatment
completed in one visit.
·
Pediatric Sedation
is for children with difficulty completing treatment or
for children with more involved treatment plan that is
necessary. This is assisted by our Anesthesiologist that
comes to our office to ensure a completely safe and
effective level of sedation for our pediatric patients
A consultation is recommended for patients with any
level of fear about visiting a dentist. The initial
consultation will set up an appointment to further
discuss our options and what is best for each patient.
